After speaking with the MVA today, we would like to remind you that the MVA will be notifying law enforcement agencies across the country on May 1st that
Maryland cardboard temporary plates issued after October 1, 2010 are not to be honored.
Any dealers issuing cardboard temporary tags after October 1, 2010 are subject to MVA action.
Customers driving vehicles with cardboard tags will be ticketed, or their vehicles could be confiscated. Several customers have been stopped and issued tickets by law
enforcement. Those customers have gone back to complain to their dealers, as well as the MVA, and those dealers have subsequently been fined.
